Removing Cookies doesn't work

I have a cookie. stored as auth-prf=<value>; SameSite=Lax; Secure; Path=/; Domain=localhost; Expires=Sat, 05 Oct 2024 23:17:28 GMT

when sending the header:
set-cookie auth-prf=; Max-Age=0; Domain=localhost; Path=/; Expires=Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 GMT

the cookie jar still has the original auth-prf cookie. in browsers this would remove the cookie from the cookie jar
