preventing use of pre-built binaries for commercial use may be harmful to growth

Since insomnia started causing me problems I have switched to a mix of .http files and your competition with the dog logo, today I wanted to take a look at the alternatives and found this project.

I’m sure if I asked my boss to fund licensing for myself and my team they’d probably just approve it but i’m not going to add a budget request for this tool until I am sure it’s the right choice for the future, I have previously requested paid insomnia and regretted it so i'm not in a rush to commit to a rest client again.

I take licensing quite seriously (professional courtesy) and I feel a bit panicky about investing time into the tool when I have such a limited time available for trial.

Of course I have options here like building my own binaries or looking for someone else that is distributing pre-built binaries but both of these are a barrier to entry that puts me off.

It’s obviously just conjecture but I feel certain that if you focussed on adding business focussed features to paid tiers but had a solid core product free (as in beer) for commerical use that you would smash it.

Regardless I wish you all the best of luck, I was a happy insomnia user for many years :)
